简介：I will discuss the hexagram (卦) 乾 and its associated judgment (卦辞) (元亨利贞), which is said to have been written down by King Wen (文王), the progenitor of the 周 dynasty. I will speak on relevant principles as developed in the 系辞传，彖传, and 文言. I will also present Richard Wilhelm’s translation, which was originally in German, and was further translated into English by Cary F. Baynes. Finally, I will propose a new English translation for this four character “judgment”.
